Friday and running every day through January 3rd- See the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Jones beach with over 150 beautiful displays. 5pm-10pm. Jones Beach, 1000 Ocean Pkwy, Wantagh. Saturday- Lakeshore Learning Store offers a free craft for kids every Saturday 11am-3pm. Ages 3 and up. Cost: free. 2079 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park.

Sunday- Ok, this isn't exactly "local", but come on... it's chocolate, so we can make an exception. Satisfy all your chocolate cravings at The I Love Chocolate Fest! The first 500 attendees who bring a Pet Donation for the Little Shelter will receive a FREE Chocolate Fest TShirt! Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Plainview. Adults $10, kids 5-12 and seniors $7, kids under 5 free. 10am-5pm.
Sunday- See the film of the world famous opera, The Flying Dutchman, at Adelphi University's Concert Hall. $20. Buy tickets here. 2pm
