Weekend Events Guide: March 13th edition

With St Patrick's Day just a few days away, grab your green and start celebrating this weekend or take part in some of the other activities going on in and around Garden City!


Friday- Catch The Touch live at Plattduetsche Park. Don't miss this fabulous band in the beer hall and enjoy some German food and beer while you're there. 7:30-11:30pm. 1132 Hempstead Tpke, Franklin Square. 


Friday- BK Sweeney's is holding their Friday Fish Fest tonight and every Friday during Lent. You can also catch their happy hour from 4-7pm. 636 Franklin Ave.


Friday- Adelphi Symphony Orchestra will perform an all-Beethoven program on Westermann Stage in Concert hall. 8pm. Get tickets here

Friday- Jay Leno is on tour and performing for one night only at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury. 960 Brush Hollow Rd., Westbury.


Saturday- Tangle It! 1:30-2:30pm. Children will explore works of art and engage in a hands-on activity inspired by what they have seen. Participants will bring their creation home. Hofstra University Museum. Advanced registration is required. 


Saturday- The Lakeshore Learning will hold a craft for kids between 11am and 3pm. Hillside Ave., New Hyde Park


Saturday- Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the Long Island Children's Museum by creating leprechaun finger puppets to bring home. 2-4pm. 11 Davis Ave., Garden City. 


Saturday- Head to La Marmite for some fantastic live music on Saturday night. Harper's Ferry will be playing at 8pm. Don't miss this fabulous band! 234 Hillside Ave., Williston Park. www.harpersferryny.com


Saturday- If you're in the mood for jazz, Tierney Sutton will bring her Grammy-nominated Joni Mitchell homage, After Blue: The Joni Mitchell Project to the Tilles Center for two shows: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. 

Saturday and Sunday- The Hofstra University Student Center will be holding the Long Island Pen Show for collectors of vintage and modern pens. 10am-4pm. Click here to visit the website.   


Sunday- Hofstra University will hold their 17th Annual Irish Festival. Enjoy Irish music, food and culture, dancing, vendors and children's activities. Cost: $6 adults, $5 seniors, children 12 and under are free. 11am-5pm at the Mack Sports Complex Arena on the North Campus. Sunday- Support the Christopher DeCrescito Memorial Foundation at their 2nd Annual Family Bowling Event. Enjoy refreshments, entertainment and, of course, bowling. The night's special guest will be NY football legend Wayne Chrebet.
