Friday- Celebrate the melting pot that is our world at Hofstra's Earthbeat! Dances from around the world will be performed by The Vanaver Caravan, professional dance and music company. You will enjoy French Canadian and Irish Step Dance, Appalachian Clogging, West African Harvest Dance, South African Gumboot Dance, Chinese Ribbon Dance, Sicilian Tarantella, dances from Bulgaria, India, Brazil, Israel, Armenia and Spain, Kurdish/Turkish dance, original stick dances, body percussion and stomp dances. The program reflects the vision of America as a melting pot and celebrates the extraordinary beauty of our world cultures. 2:20-4pm. John Cranford Adams Playhouse, Hofstra University. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and every day through November 1st- The Fall Festival continues at Hicks Nurseries. Enjoy a walk through an animated children's story featuring Otto the Ghost, visit live animals, take a hayride, choose from pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn for your home decorating, enjoy crisp apples, a cup of cider, roasted corn or a jelly apple and pick up a fresh baked pie. Friday, Saturday and Sunday- Hofstra University proudly hosts their annual Fall Festival and Concert for alumni, students and families. The festival promise lots of fun with rides, a parade float, music, comedy, food trucks, fireworks and more. Some of this year's performers include Ludacris, Sugarhill Gang and the premier Billy Joel cover band- Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot. Most events take place on Saturday. Saturday- Celebrate all things Beer, Bacon and BBQ at the Cradle of Aviation Musuem. There will be food sampling, craft beers, ciders, live music, games and activities. $65 admission, $30 designated driver. Visit the website for more information. 1pm-5:30pm. Charles Lindbergh Blvd
Saturday- The 21st Annual Covert Ave Street Fair takes place from 11am-5pm. Prepare to be entertained! There will be bouncy houses, carnival rides, face painting, a petting zoo and pony rides, plus vendors, live music, food as well as singers and dancers. For the adults there will be a smoke house, vendors and special deals from local merchants. This event takes place in Floral Park and Stewart Manor from Tulip Ave to Cisney Ave.
Saturday- Free craft for kids ages 3 and up at Lakeshore Learning Store. 11am-3pm. 2079 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park.
